VOLUME CHANGES DURING PREGNANCY

Amniotic fluid increases from 30ml at 10 weeks to approximately 250ml at 17 weeks. The amount of fluid increases until about 30 weeks, and then tends to plateau between 30-37 weeks at about 500-1100ml.

The amniotic fluid volume drops after 37 weeks and by 43 weeks the volume varies between 0 and 600ml.
